Till date, you must have seen police posts on the roadside many times. These posts are built for the convenience of the people, their checking and many other reasons. But have you ever seen posts built for animals? You must be thinking that we are joking. But it is not so. There is a place in Kota, Rajasthan, where there are many posts, which have been built for animals. Now you must be thinking that what do animals have to do with these posts?
Many checkpoints have been built in Kota, through which animals are monitored. Police is also deployed at these checkpoints all the time. These checkpoints have been built for a specific reason. Actually, Nagar Nigam Kota is behind them. These checkpoints have been built to prevent cattle from entering the city from outside. Apart from the police, contract labourers are also deployed at these checkpoints. These have been built because cattle enter the area every day.
Checkpoints built in several areas
Commissioner of Nagar Nigam Kota North Anurag Bhargav gave more information on this matter. He said that many cattle enter the urban areas from the villages adjacent to the jurisdiction of the corporation. Due to this, the cases of accidents were increasing. Checkpoints have been built to prevent these cattle from entering the urban area. At present, checkpoints have been built on Keshavrai Patan Road, Ballobh Road, Dhakadkhedi and Barna Road in the city.
Police remains vigilant
It is not that the corporation has washed its hands off the matter by just setting up a post. Someone or the other is present at these posts 24 hours a day. Not just the police, many labourers have also been hired on contract who are present at these posts. The commissioner said that strict action will be taken against those whose cattle are found entering the urban areas. People are present at the post all the time for checking. Apart from cows and buffaloes coming from rural areas, they also keep an eye on goats.
